Artopia Best-in-show and live auction artwork annnounced! See below for winners and live-auction pieces.

What is Artopia?

Artopia is an art auction featuring local, regional and national artists' original works, as well as a few signed and numbered limited editions. Attendees will have the opportunity to view and bid on approximately 150 pieces of original artwork, including oils, pastels, acrylics, sculpture, mixed-media, photography and more.

How is the Art Sold?

There are two types of auctions that will be occurring throughout the evening. Starting at 6 p.m.¹ Eastern Time and continuing until 8:45 p.m.¹ Eastern Time, most of the pieces in the show will be subject to a Silent Auction.

During this time, each piece of art will have an accompanying form that describes the art and shows a minimum bid. Once the minimum bid is made by an attendee, others may bid against the highest bid amount until the silent auction closes. Whoever has the highest bid at that time, wins the auction for that piece.

The Live Auction will start at approximately 7:15 p.m.¹ Eastern Time and continue for approximately one hour.

This auction will consist of the art that has been selected by an art jury. Each piece will be displayed and described by an auctioneer, who will open the auction with a starting bid. Each participant will then bid, by raising a numbered bid card, until the auctioneer has recognized a high bidder.

How do Buyers Check Out?

Check out will open at 8:45¹ p.m. Eastern Time, once the silent auction has ended. All attendees will have been given a individual bid number when arriving at the auction. All of the art they have won (with the highest bid amount) will be filed under their bid number. The highest bids for all the pieces will be added together.

Payment can be made with check, cash, VISA or MasterCard. Checks should be made payable to Big Bend Cares.

¹All times are subject to change the night of the event depending upon the length of the auction and other factors that cannot be established in advance.
