George Blakely
George Blakely is an ultra-light distance hiker*, outdoor enthusiast and an Artist whose work intersects with environmental issues. He has exhibited work in over three hundred exhibitions all across the country in almost every state. Currently, his favorite museum in which to exhibit his work is his own yard, where he has fabricated pole-like structures with objects that are evidence of his consumption and collection habits. One example is the use of junk mail (mostly mail order catalogs) to remake trees. He also makes large photographs and digital images that intersect with the themes of the sculptures in the yard.
* Blakely has section hiked two-fifths of the Appalachian Trail.
Trish A. Hanson
Trish A. Hanson is the Director of Development for The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science and has been with the organization for 8 years. Trish is responsible for the fundraising activities of the Museum including capital projects, endowments, corporate sponsorships, membership drives, local, state and federal grants, as well as grants to private foundations, organizations, and special events. She is additionally responsible for coordinating and directing all marketing, public relations and media activities of the Museum. She works closely with the Board of Directors as well as in developing community partnerships with interested stakeholders.
Zilpha Underwood
Zilpha Underwood is the features editor at the Tallahassee Democrat, where she has worked since moving to Tallahassee in 1983. She is married to Mike Underwood, a local attorney.
