Kacey Westall

Kacey received her BFA from Florida International University. Living and working in Miami, FL, she is a resident artist at Damien B. Art Gallery. She has participated in live drawing performances throughout South Florida including the Wallflower Gallery and Kevro Art Bar. Her work has been exhibited numerous places in Florida including The Frost Art Museum, Graham Center Art Gallery, Scope Art Fair, and EdgeZones Gallery. Artwork Description

"Placid Graze" is a combination of fragmented abstract gestural marks, stains and interwoven diaristic text create a palimpsest for a faint, resurfaced memory. A subtle underlying grid creates tension with the man made and the organic. Referencing construction and de-construction, this splintered drawn history calls for the viewer to reconstruct this fleeting moment, mimicking the way our brains operate throughout the memory process.
