Artist Profile

Marina Brown

Marina began her career as a ballet dancer with Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, and American Festival Ballet in Europe. After learning French, she spent summers in and around Paris and Toulouse. She began painting as a child; earning scholarships to John Herran Art Institute in Indianapolis. She exhibited at Mainsail and Gasparilla Art Shows; Bradfordville Blues Club; and earned "Best Emerging Artist" at Sawgrass Art Center, St. Petersburg. Artwork Description

This limited watercolor print takes place in Trinidad the night before Ash Wednesday when Carnival still reigns. The powerful woman of the Caribbean is dancing through the streets to pounding steel drums and raucous singing. She won't finish till dawn.
