Susan Allen

Susan began painting watercolors as a hobby about five years ago. As time goes on and as she paints more, she has found that she goes into a type of meditative concentration. The artist wrote, "The practice provides a sense of spiritual connection-rare time when I am able to 'be here now'." The artist can be reached at susan_allen@earthlink.net.

Artwork Description

The reference photo for this work was taken on Moccasin Gap Road in 2006. The artist started the painting then but did not finish it until the spring of 2008. She wrote, "I was pleased with the effect of the floating frame as it carries the sense of shade onto whatever wall it hangs on."
