Dr. Caroline Joan (Kay) Picart

Dr. Caroline Joan S. Picart has won awards and exhibited in galleries in the Philippines, South Korea, and various parts of the U.S. since 1986, when she was a pre-medical student. Her art and dance company, Kinaesthetics, LLC, combines Dr. Picart's expertise in dance (US Open Champion in Cabaret, a mix of ballroom, ballet and gymnastics) and her love of experimentation with mixed media.

Artwork Description

An abstract meditation on flight and metamorphoses, using intersecting figures of a fairy and butterflies, and the color red: the color of passion and life. The composition also incorporates cooler blues and greens to show how passion and life are balanced by moments of stillness and senescence in a cycle of change.
