Expansion plans underway for Big Bend Cares

Rob Renzi peered out a window facing South Monroe Street, pointing to an adjacent block where Big Bend Cares wants to build a two-story, 25,000-square-foot medical center.

In February, the Tallahassee nonprofit submitted preliminary plans to the city’s Growth Management Department, and last week paperwork was finalized to acquire seven lots on 1.8 acres at South Monroe and Adams streets and Magnolia Drive. As a result of the acquisition, Sheffield Auto Shop will be relocating to its original site at West Pensacola Street and Capital Circle Northwest by July 1, though construction on the center won’t begin for some time…
