N DECEMBER 1, THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY WILL GATHER in unison to recognize the 20th annual World AIDS Day. Big Bend Cares will commemorate the day of recognition through three events representing the "Deliver, Empower, Lead" theme.

Big Bend Cares World AIDS Day events involve awareness, education, and preventive methods of fighting HIV/AIDS:

To support the Deliver Theme, Big Bend Cares is sponsoring a Hope and Healing Service November 30 at 4 p.m. Eastern Time, featuring the Rev. Greg James at Love & Faith Ministries, located at 1500 Miccosukee Road. Music will be performed by Mary Bush Smith & The Shining Stars, Apostle Rosilyn Walker & One Voice and Eric Stites & Line 150.
Canopy Connection and Hospice also will hold a Hope and Healing Service Monday, December at 7 p.m. Eastern Time at Big Bend Hospice, located at 1723 Mahan Center Blvd.
To support the Empower Theme, Big Bend Cares is having free Confidential HIV Rapid Testing on Monday, December 1 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time at the Big Bend Cares offices. Big Bend Cares is located at 2201 South Monroe Street in Tallahassee.
To support the Lead Theme, Big Bend Cares is sponsoring a Community Forum and Leadership Panel on Monday, December 1 at Walker Ford Community Center on Pasco Street at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The panel will consist of local HIV/AIDS providers, Elected Officials and Community Members. Refreshments and Door Prizes are available.
